How Ella's story came to be...
Ever thought of the Earth as more than just a lump of rock?
I first did on the 27th of December 2013, just after Christmas, when my idea came to me. It came, rather oddly, in the form of a thirteen-year-old blond girl who went by the combined names of two girls at my school: Ella Fisher. The idea of her came to me in November, and for some reason I decided to start scribbling down character profiles for various characters who at the time I didn't have a clue about! All these ideas for people scribbled down on paper, and to me at the time there appeared to be no future for my notes. Then, when I got lots of new notebooks for Christmas, I decided to start writing something random - and Ella Fisher's character profiles just popped into my head as an ideal starting point. I wrote about an A4 page on Christmas day, then abandoned it until two days later, when I sat down at my parents' computer and decided to try and type out as far as I'd got.
I ended up improving the part I'd already written and practically gluing myself to the keyboard for the next week, typing furiously.
Ah well...

And then the ideas flowed...
As I began to write more, my view of Ella's world began to consolidate. A teenage girl is whisked away from her home in the Lake District, Cumbria, to London due to the loss of her mother (Emma Fisher)'s job. They move to Ella's 'uncle's' house - a huge mansion on the banks of the River Thames. The story really begins, though, on Ella's first day at her new school: Westminster High (I made the school up, sorry if there's a real school called that). She goes on the school bus with her cousins: Daniel Fisher (small, blond and chunky), and Miya Fisher (tall, dark-haired, loves technology). That day, she meets Daniel's friends, Kane Meyer and Matthew Jackson, and befriends Zara Keaton, an incredibly smart eleven-year-old. Then, when she goes home, stuff happens - but if I told you it would spoil the whole book!
And now for a little thank you...
So, I've decided I'd like to say a huge thank you to all you people who've helped me get this far. Thanks guys!
My beloved friends!
So then, there's the people who provide support from school - friends! Thanks to: Eleanor, Clara, Mirus and Squelch. You guys are truly incredible <3
